About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct lab analyses throughout all stages of manufacturing for quality control of raw materials and finished products
  • Ensure sampling, analytical, and monitoring equipment is reliable and working properly
  • Maintain accurate test results, start-up records, QA logs, and reports
  • Support production teams in complying with quality management system requirements
  • Implement and monitor lab testing practices according to CSA and Tenaris internal standards
  • Analyze QA data to define quality performance
  • Support productivity improvement, downtime and setup-time reduction, scrap reduction, and other projects
  • Assist with manufacturing technical issues and contribute to production workstreams
  • Conduct laboratory and line trials to understand problems and potential solutions
  • Support scrap-reduction, cost-savings, quality-improvement, process-optimization, and material-optimization teams
  • Support Health and Safety initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates pursuing or having completed post-secondary studies in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering are preferred
  • Active Engineering students enrolled in a university program and seeking part-time employment are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working in steel manufacturing, coatings application, and previous lab experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Fantastic trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Work in an industrial pipe-coating laboratory environment
