Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in preparing food quantities according to menus, recipes, and number of persons served
  • Set up the dining room as instructed
  • Prepare salads, beverages, and other food items
  • Take resident orders and serve meals promptly
  • Clean resident eating areas, work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Collect and stack dirty dishes and return carts to the kitchen
  • Wash cooking equipment, carts, pots, pans, dishes, and utensils
  • Clean eating and preparation surfaces
  • Sweep and mop floors and remove garbage
  • Store food in designated areas
  • Work cooperatively with residents, representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Prior experience in a dietary environment at a large establishment
  • Health care experience preferred
  • Previous knowledge and care of food service equipment preferred, but not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred
  • Criminal background check required
  • Employment and professional references required
