About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as an LPN Charge Nurse on a 7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM shift
- Provide patient assessments and respond to changes in residents’ conditions
- Document observations, interventions and outcomes
- Monitor and/or record follow-through for physician telephone orders
- Recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents
- Recognize, intervene and report complaints and grievances from patients, families, visitors and the facility
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient, employee and facility information
- Promote an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients’ personal and healthcare needs
- Supervise the day-to-day responsibilities of nurses’ aides
- Work in an inpatient, long-term-care setting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have a current active LPN license
- Previous long term care experience
- 1-3 years of experience preferred; new graduates considered
- High School Diploma
- Completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent patient assessment skills
- Ability to recognize and respond to changes in a resident’s condition
- Ability to document observations, interventions and outcomes
- Ability to monitor and/or record follow-through for physician telephone orders
- Ability to recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents
- Ability to recognize, intervene and report complaints and grievances
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Must provide information for a criminal background check if required
- Employment and professional references required
- Completed license needed upon starting work
