  • Assess patients' medical, physical, psychological, and socio-economic status
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and differential diagnoses
  • Order and administer appropriate medications within statutory restrictions
  • Provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective care
  • Prioritize and adapt care plans to patients and circumstances
  • Perform procedures within expertise, state regulations, and organizational policies
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment, disease prevention, and health promotion
  • Promote culturally sensitive, evidence-based, patient-centered health and resource information
  • Document examinations, diagnostic impressions, codes, consultations, and patient-care activities
  • Complete and maintain accurate charts, case files, records, and required documentation
  • Observe Universal Precautions
  • Conduct telephonic and virtual encounters
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings
  • Participate in clinical coordination, quality and process improvement, protocol development, strategic planning, and administrative tasks
  • Train, mentor, and provide clinical education to employees, colleagues, and students

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree required
  • Physician Assistant: Graduation from a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Three years of experience in family medicine preferred
  • Oral and written fluency in English
  • Oral proficiency in medical Spanish required; fluency preferred
  • Current or eligible for unrestricted licensure in the State of Colorado
  • Active DEA licensure or eligible for DEA licensure; new graduates should obtain within a year of hire
  • Valid national and state of Colorado certification as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and compliance with requirements
  • Must provide proof of 100 hours of CME every two years
  • Employees must provide valid proof of required vaccinations prior to starting employment
  • Colorado residency required at time of hire and throughout employment
  • Ability to execute work plans independently and with flexibility, with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multitask, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Creative and positive approach to communication and problem solving
  • Culturally competent approach when working with low income and minority communities
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle difficult patients constructively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
