About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set the technical direction for regional AI enablement work, including solution architecture, platform choices, reusable patterns, and quality standards
  • Build alongside the team on the hardest AI deployments
  • Lead, coach, and grow a regional team of three to ten Forward Deployed Engineers
  • Own hiring, performance management, and career development for the regional pod
  • Diagnose workflow bottlenecks with regional business units and create a prioritized AI opportunity pipeline
  • Establish baselines and track measurable business outcomes for every deployment
  • Discontinue initiatives that do not deliver measurable value
  • Coordinate dotted-line contributors from business units
  • Partner with Corporate IT on platform, data, security, and compliance requirements
  • Share reusable patterns across regions and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Report into the Central AI team and collaborate with peer Technical Lead Managers worldwide

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or related technical field
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on delivery of AI or automation solutions
  • Experience leading engineers through mentoring, technical leadership, or management of a small team
  • Fluency in AI-native development tools such as Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI platforms and frameworks such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
  • Strong full-stack development skills with modern programming languages and frameworks
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Comfortable with senior business stakeholders
  • Business outcome orientation and ability to connect technical work to measurable metrics
  • Willingness to travel within the region
  • Master's degree in computer science, Machine Learning, or related field preferred as a differentiator
  • Experience building and running a distributed or multi-site engineering team
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Graph API, or Azure AI Search
  • Hands-on experience with LangGraph, Ollama, and MCP
  • Background in prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, or LLM fine-tuning
  • Understanding of enterprise AI security, compliance, and data governance
  • Experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, customer-embedded engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting
  • Semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or industrial automation domain experience
