Key responsibilities & impact

Lead assessment of legacy capital project and cost accounting processes for a retail store development program
Conduct fit-gap analysis against Oracle Fusion standard functionality and maintain requirements traceability
Design and configure a greenfield Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM Project Accounting solution
Design store build-out, remodel and relocation processes, including project templates, work breakdown structures and asset classes
Define capitalization versus expense controls for CIP, pre-opening costs and asset transfers to Oracle Fusion Assets
Lead decisions on Budgetary Control, encumbrances, capital appropriations, control budgets, tolerances and funds checking
Design change order, contingency, tenant improvement allowance, internal labor capitalization, retirement, impairment and multi-state tax processes
Design Fusion security, project-level data security and segregation of duties
Jointly design the chart of accounts and Subledger Accounting with the Oracle Fusion Financials consultant
Coordinate Fixed Assets, Payables and Procurement configuration and reconciliation
Define conversion strategy for projects, tasks, budgets, historical costs, open commitments and CIP balances
Execute conversion loads using FBDI and REST and handle in-flight projects at cutover
Reconcile converted balances to the legacy trial balance and Oracle General Ledger
Replace legacy capital reporting with OTBI, BI Publisher and Fusion dashboards
Develop and execute pilots, integration, conversion and user acceptance testing
Produce process documentation, fit-gap logs, configuration workbooks, functional designs and conversion specifications
Build training materials and train construction project managers and field personnel
Contribute to cutover planning, opening balance validation and first Oracle period close
Provide post-go-live hypercare and resolve cost import, distribution, asset-line and reconciliation issues at root cause
Use Tessera AI agents to document processes, draft configuration/test assets and run conversion reconciliations
Feed Oracle PPM and capital accounting expertise back into the Tessera platform
Report to the VP, Center of Excellence
Work US business hours with Corporate Accounting, Construction, Real Estate, Procurement, Oracle Financials and Tessera delivery teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

12+ years in Oracle project accounting
5+ years hands-on with Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM
At least two full-lifecycle Fusion PPM implementations migrating capital project accounting from a legacy ERP or non-ERP environment
Experience leading fit-gap analysis and current-state assessment, including requirements traceability matrices, gap logs and solution recommendations
Ability to reverse-engineer undocumented legacy systems, custom programs and spreadsheet-based processes
Hands-on greenfield configuration across Project Costing, Project Control and Project Assets
Experience with Oracle Fusion Budgetary Control and encumbrance accounting for capital projects
Strong understanding of capital project accounting, including CIP, capitalization, retirement, impairment, pre-opening costs and internal labor capitalization
Experience with construction cost management, including change orders, contingency, retainage and tenant improvement allowances with CIP and ASC 842
Experience designing project time capture and labor costing
Experience designing Fusion security, project-level data security and segregation of duties
Working knowledge of US sales and use tax on construction spend and multi-state treatment
Experience with data conversion and reconciliation using FBDI, ADFdi and REST APIs
Working knowledge of Subledger Accounting, account derivation rules and month-end close/subledger-to-General Ledger reconciliation
Track record delivering capital reporting suites with OTBI and BI Publisher
Proficiency with Functional Setup Manager
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and judgment distinguishing requirements from legacy habits
Strong communication skills with cross-functional and non-finance operational teams
Ability to learn and become fluent in the Tessera AI platform
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or related field
Oracle Cloud certification in Project Management or Project Portfolio Management preferred
Prior migration experience from SAP FI/CO and Project Systems, Oracle E-Business Suite Projects, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards or homegrown/spreadsheet-based processes preferred
Experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality or another multi-unit environment preferred
Experience with phased or multi-wave rollouts preferred
Familiarity with Oracle Fusion PPM integrations with General Ledger, Payables, Procurement, Fixed Assets, Inventory and Cost Management preferred
Experience integrating Oracle Fusion PPM with Procore, IBM Tririga or Yardi preferred
Exposure to Project Billing and Project Contracts preferred
Experience with Oracle Fusion Lease Accounting and Oracle EPM preferred
US work authorization required; immigration sponsorship question included in application
