SAP OTC Architect

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the functional and architectural direction of the order-to-cash domain across several concurrent customer engagements
- Design target-state OTC solutions and transition routes, balancing customer requests, current systems, and business value
- Review functional specifications and define conversion, reconciliation, and cutover approaches for OTC data and open documents
- Maintain architectural integrity throughout delivery
- Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineers, Tessera AI agents, customer architects, Technical Program Managers, and distributed delivery teams
- Own OTC integration surfaces including EDI and IDoc flows, tax engines, payment and banking, CRM and commerce front ends, transportation and warehouse systems, and downstream finance
- Lead ECC order-to-cash discovery, including custom code and enhancement inventory, interface mapping, data quality, process debt, and business impact
- Own SD-relevant simplification items and translate them into scope, effort, and risk
- Distinguish business requirements from historical system habits and recommend what to retain, standardize, or retire
- Architect brownfield, selective data transition, or greenfield paths for high-volume OTC estates
- Own customer master, Business Partner, partner relationships, open orders, open deliveries, and open receivables data conversion and reconciliation
- Contribute OTC expertise, checks, patterns, rules, and accelerators to the Tessera AI platform
- Support SAP pre-sales opportunities by defining scope, approach, effort, and risk
- Build customer advocates and superusers, drive adoption, retire workarounds, and address adoption blockers
- Provide OTC staffing input for Center of Excellence capacity planning
- Measure first-year outcomes including target-state designs, simplification-item triage, custom-code and data-position clarity, adoption improvement, and platform feedback
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ years in SAP, with order-to-cash as the primary focus
- Architect-level ownership on at least two full-lifecycle implementations, conversions, or transformations
- Deep, current, hands-on SAP SD expertise, including sales document and item category configuration, copy control, pricing through the condition technique, availability check, delivery and goods issue, billing and billing plans, intercompany, returns and complaints, partner determination, and output determination
- Working knowledge of adjacent MM, FI-AR, and CO processes
- Demonstrated ECC to S/4HANA order-to-cash experience
- Experience with SD simplification items, including SAP Credit Management, Settlement Management, Revenue Accounting and Reporting, GTS, BRF+, document status table removal, pricing data model changes, and advanced ATP
- Practical command of at least one transition approach: brownfield system conversion, selective data transition, or greenfield
- Familiarity with readiness and pre-check tooling, custom code analysis, and realistic OTC cutover windows at volume
- Command of sales, delivery, billing, and pricing tables and document flow
- Understanding of customer master migration to Business Partner, IDoc and EDI message flows, enhancements, and user exits
- Fluency in pricing and discount strategy, credit and blocks, third-party and intercompany flows, returns, rebates, revenue recognition, billing, disputes, and collections
- Senior client-facing presence with customer architects, business owners, and finance stakeholders
- Record of driving customer adoption beyond go-live
- Ability to manage several engagements simultaneously
- Ability to learn and become fluent in a new AI platform
- Excellent verbal and written business English and strong presentation ability
- Experience working with distributed onshore, nearshore, and offshore delivery teams
- Strong asynchronous communication discipline
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Spanish, Portuguese, or German is a plus but not a must-have
- Ability to work in the U.S. and answer whether immigration sponsorship is required
