About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the app and feature teams building QV.AC features and app experiences on top of the local AI stack
Run teams day to day by unblocking work, reviewing contributions, and maintaining delivery speed
Set and maintain high engineering standards for performance, reliability, and clean APIs
Own technical design and the API surface between the AI core and the app
Coordinate with AI research and deep technology teams on code reviews, design, models, and inference
Partner with product managers to turn vision and roadmap into scoped, buildable work
Challenge mismatched scope and propose better implementation paths
Advise product decisions on local model capabilities and limitations
Use AI tools and rapid prototypes to validate ideas
Clarify team goals and define success criteria
Mentor team leads and improve team operating systems and collaboration
Report directly to the CTO and take direction from product

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer products, ideally AI-powered apps
Strong product sense
Intuition for applied AI and on-device constraints, including model size, latency, memory, and battery
Ability to distinguish reliable features from demos
Heavy use of AI tools and willingness to experiment with new models and capabilities
Deep JavaScript and React
Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and ability to give and receive direct critique
Preferred: experience with local or on-device inference, LLM evals, cross-platform mobile and desktop apps, or open source
Excellent English communication skills
