About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist in training specialty skilled and/or semi-skilled courses within TEEX Workforce Development Programs
Provide instruction at the Coastal Bend Occupational Advanced Skills Training (COAST) in Corpus Christi and the RGV Advanced Manufacturing Hub (RAM) in Brownsville
Use adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success and course effectiveness
Perform online and/or classroom instruction
Conduct field-based skills training
Provide technical assistance in a specialty area
Use various media to present course material
Assist in creating or updating curriculum content when necessary
Provide training in Brownsville, TX and Corpus Christi, TX
Report to the Training Manager, Transportation & Heavy Equipment

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years heavy equipment operations, including experience on two or more of the following: Aerial Work Platforms, Backhoe, Bulldozer, Dump Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Front End Loader, Maintainer, and Skid Steer
Two years of adult education and/or training
Must reside in one of the listed counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
Must have a valid Class A Commercials Driver’s license (CDL)
Equivalency: three years of related experience with an Associate's Degree in an applicable field, or one year of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field; all experience must include two years of adult education and/or training
