About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in training specialty skilled and/or semi-skilled courses within TEEX Workforce Development Programs
- Provide training at COAST in Corpus Christi, Texas and RAM in Brownsville, Texas
- Perform online and/or classroom instruction
- Conduct field-based skills training
- Provide technical assistance in a specialty area
- Use adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success
- Use a variety of media to present course material
- Assist in creating or updating curriculum content as needed
- Report to the Training Manager, Transportation & Heavy Equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five years heavy equipment operations experience on two or more of: Aerial Work Platforms, Backhoe, Bulldozer, Dump Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Front End Loader, Maintainer, and Skid Steer
- Two years of adult education and/or training
- Must reside in one of the listed counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, or Willacy
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Alternatively, three years of related experience with an Associate's Degree in an applicable field, or one year of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field
- All equivalency experience must include two years of adult education and/or training
- Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation
- Employment is contingent upon verification of credentials and/or other required information
