About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, negotiate, and maintain commercial provider contracts
- Manage provider relationships and ensure contract terms are met
- Resolve provider service issues
- Coordinate with Legal, Operations, and Medical Management teams on contract implementation and network integrity
- Analyze financial, operational, and utilization data to assess contract performance
- Support strategic contracting decisions
- Ensure accurate and timely contract submissions, amendments, and renewals
- Maintain knowledge of plan products, policies, and market trends
- Guide provider engagement and contracting strategies
- Support corporate initiatives and related projects through timely, cost-effective execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- At least 4 years of experience in commercial managed care contracting and negotiating experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Experience in developing, managing and nurturing key provider relationships
- Knowledge of various reimbursement methodologies, including incentive-based models preferred
- Understanding and experience with managed care and provider business models in the commercial healthcare space
- Proven ability to develop strong working relationships within a fast-paced organization
- Customer-centric and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maneuver effectively in a changing environment
- Problem-solving, decision-making, negotiating, contract language and financial acumen
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Public speaking and presentation skills preferred
- Basic financial modeling skills preferred
- Contract language experience, including reviewing redlines and understanding contract clauses at an intermediate level, preferred
- Must reside in Texas
