About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate and proofread documents for a variety of clients
- Create and finalize translated content before delivery to clients
- Translate from English into Irish in Legal areas, including terms/conditions and contracts
- Translate from English into Irish in Information Technology, including user interfaces
- Collaborate with managers and Project Managers
- Work under managerial guidance to meet international client translation needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Irish
- Specialized in Legal and/or Information Technology fields
- Acute attention to detail, spelling, and grammar
- Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines
- Applicants must sign a confidentiality agreement
- Applicants must complete Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM tests
- One of the following is required: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or equivalent degree with significant translation training) from a recognized higher-education institution; 2 years of translation experience and a college degree; 5 years of translation experience and no college degree; or a certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body
- Relevant translation, MTPE, and proofreading/QM experience must be included in the CV
- Proposed best Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading per-word rate in USD must be included in the CV
