About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop system-of-systems and enterprise engineering MBSE models and mission engineering principles to capture end-to-end mission threads
- Develop and integrate analytical methods and tools to evaluate program and mission strategic concepts for performance, risk, and resilience
- Lead development of architectures for modeling, simulation, and data tools and their interactions
- Define concepts of operations and use cases, and oversee implementation to ensure objectives are met
- Lead and develop models and analyses to identify risks in new capabilities across the national security space enterprise
- Provide recommendations informing customer decisions on priorities, funding, requirements, and resourcing
- Lead project teams comprising Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel across multiple concurrent projects
- Elicit and identify needs, requirements, and constraints for studies
- Marshal technical expertise across multiple disciplines and domains to enable concurrent engineering approaches
- Mentor early-career and experienced staff as a technical advisor and role model
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field
- For Engineering Specialist: substantive experience in space, intelligence, and/or defense domains, typically 6 or more years
- For Senior Engineering Specialist: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field, or a bachelor’s degree and equivalent technical experience
- For Senior Engineering Specialist: substantive experience in space, intelligence, and/or defense domains, typically 10 or more years
- Proficient with engineering and analytic capabilities such as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or modeling and simulation
- Experience with project planning and team leadership
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with customers, Aerospace program offices, contractors, and internal functional organizations
- Experience developing and presenting strategic decision-making and strategic communications artifacts for senior-level management and technical architecture design artifacts for engineering-level reviews
- Time-management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and lead cross-functional, cross-organizational teams
- Willing to travel domestically less than 10%
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance
- Advanced degree in engineering, math, science, or related technical discipline is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with SysML, UAF, or UPDM is advantageous
- Experience with key Aerospace customer agencies in the defense and intelligence community and knowledge of their domains and professional networks is advantageous
