About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support, maintain, develop, and deliver information systems for the AES Clean Energy commercial business
  • Support the ETRM platform at the business unit and individual staff level
  • Roll out new functionality in coordination with corporate IT
  • Assist commercial functions with booking deals and assets
  • Model exposures in the ETRM system
  • Troubleshoot ETRM issues and perform related reporting
  • Provide after-hours or weekend support when required, with centralized corporate IT support
  • Interface with Commercial and IT teams on ETRM-related items
  • Develop and maintain internal and external tools for position and market monitoring
  • Support the commercial business with the Product Control team
  • Capture and validate trade entry with trading teams
  • Provide live support and troubleshooting for commercial, risk, and financial teams
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance customer applications based on contractual needs
  • Assist with data management solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Sciences, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the energy industry
  • Experience supporting Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, preferably Allegro (desirable)
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Power BI and reporting tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database querying
  • Experience with HTML, Python, Perl, R, XML, and related technologies is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams
  • Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
