About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engage stakeholders in establishing ACT governance structures
- Align governance systems with the requirements of implementing agencies, funders, and ACT programme management
- Prepare the Mandates for the ACT Programme Governance Committee and MJET Governance Committee
- Prepare Terms of Reference for required governance sub-committees
- Develop the ACT Programme Code of Ethics
- Develop the Conflict-of-Interest Policy and declarations procedure
- Establish the ACT Governance Annual Calendar
- Investigate and operationalise an online governance portal
- Prepare committee agendas, packs, minutes, and matters arising
- Work with programme managers and the Analyst: ACT Reporting on committee administration
- Arrange preparatory briefings for Chairpersons
- Establish and maintain an ACT stakeholder database
- Assist programme managers with stakeholder engagements across government, funders, communities, civil society, companies, and business associations
- Manage the Analyst: ACT Reporting to ensure reporting systems and standards meet funder requirements and ACT governance mandates
- Train governance members on mandates, governance duties, and use of the online portal
- Commission annual ACT Progress Reports for publication on the JET PMU website
- Work under the direction of the JET PMU Programme Manager: ACT Desk
- Line-manage the Analyst: ACT Reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Development studies, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5 to 8 years of professional management and governance experience in socio-economic development organisations
- Experience independently managing the efficient functioning of high-level committees
- Experience steering complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders
- Expertise in governance committee management
- Skills in producing committee documentation, record-keeping, and setting reporting standards
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and scheduling
- Established networks with stakeholders involved in ACT-related activities
- Ability to navigate competing interests, facilitate constructive engagements, and mitigate risks
- Ability to assess bottlenecks to critical-path delivery and find collaborative solutions
- Skills in establishing digital systems for committee administration, documentation, and record-keeping
- Competence in managing sustainable development projects and programmes
- Ability to work with funders, civil society, government, and business associations
- Legal right to work in the country
