About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define MJET scope, goals, schedules, success criteria, implementing agents, funding, funding-flow arrangements, and monitoring framework
  • Establish MJET programme governance and ensure consistency across multiple implementing agents
  • Prepare and operationalise the MJET delivery execution plan and its sub-components
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and resourcing conflicts
  • Monitor performance and oversee benefits realisation
  • Undertake quality assurance at defined programme milestones
  • Ensure active participation of community organisations in affected areas in determining local priorities and shaping MJET investments
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across government, funders, community structures, civil society organisations, companies, and business associations
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration and problem-solve issues as they arise
  • Prepare and present programme performance reports to MJET and ACT governance structures and funders
  • Manage public communications on MJET progress
  • Report to the MJET Governance Committee and ACT Programme Governance Committee
  • Work under the direction of the JET PMU Manager: Operations while seconded to the JET PMU

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 8–10 years of experience in programme management
  • Experience steering complex, multi-million dollar projects managed by multiple agencies
  • Ability to formulate a big-picture perspective while steering specific execution layers
  • Experience guiding implementing agencies in distinct and cross-functional teams without direct line authority
  • Ability to build collaboration, navigate competing interests, and protect critical-path delivery
  • Ability to assess delivery bottlenecks and find solutions with responsible stakeholders
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable using digital tools to support financial and programme management work
  • Competence in the professional use of programme management frameworks, with demonstrated practical application
  • Master's degree in Business Administration/Management or a related field
  • Certified training in programme or project management, management accounting, enterprise development, socio-economic impact analysis, and/or related fields
  • Legal right to work in South Africa
