About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the Commercial team day to day and support the Team Director, who retains overall responsibility for the Commercial Team book of business
  • Maintain a designated portfolio of clients as an Account Handler to the highest standards
  • Ensure Account Handlers accurately process renewals and follow company processes and procedures
  • Manage Account Handler holidays, sickness and absence
  • Establish recruitment needs and conduct interviews
  • Implement training procedures for new direct reports
  • Address team performance issues and conduct matters promptly and appropriately
  • Set personal training plans and conduct appraisals for direct reports
  • Provide existing clients with comprehensive commercial insurance service, including advising, reviewing, arranging and securing appropriate cover at competitive premiums
  • Handle new business, mid-term adjustments and renewals in relevant markets according to company terms and conditions
  • Respond promptly to telephone enquiries and refer queries outside own knowledge or experience to the appropriate person

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive insurance broking experience
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure deadlines are adhered to
  • Excellent relationship skills
  • Enthusiasm and problem-solving ability
  • Team leader or people management experience advantageous
  • Ability to complete relevant employment checks, including verification of recent employment, address, credit history and a standard criminal record check
  • Commitment to professional and respectful conduct and maintaining an inclusive workplace
