About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage all projects pertaining to the Rising Leaders Program, including the application cycle, policy paper editing and publication process, and virtual and in-person programming with experts
  • Plan and execute Rising Leaders Program alumni programming and events throughout the year
  • Develop processes and lead the launch of the Albright International Leaders Program, including recruitment, promotion, application and selection processes, and programming oversight
  • Establish and maintain organized systems for program documentation, records, procedures, and operational materials
  • Provide programmatic, administrative, and logistical support across the Aspen Strategy Group portfolio, including the Rising Leaders Program, Albright International Leaders Program, ASG Summer Workshop, Aspen Security Forum, and track II dialogues
  • Draft external correspondence for meeting participants and outside stakeholders
  • Translate broad objectives into actionable plans, establish priorities, manage competing deadlines, and ensure critical tasks move forward
  • Assist in writing and proofreading meeting materials, grant proposals and reports, and summary documents
  • Conduct background research, attend sessions, and take substantive notes
  • Manage logistics for conferences and events, including application materials, tracking processes, RSVP lists, contracts, and BEOs
  • Contribute to and edit the Weekly Leaf newsletter

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (International Relations, Political Science, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Long-term interest in working in U.S. foreign policy and national security strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as a team player within a small-team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative in problem-solving
  • Strong work ethic and excellent time-management skills
  • Keen understanding of protocol
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle stress, be comfortable with ambiguity, and manage competing demands/priorities
  • Proficiency with, or easy ability to learn, iContact, WordPress, FormAssembly, Canva, etc.
  • Desire to learn, sense of humor, creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness
