About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Strategize and develop media plans from inception to completion, understanding inventory, KPIs, and product metrics
  • Act as a trusted planning expert to Sales, Strategy, and Program Management within the pod structure, supporting 1-2 pod groups
  • Manage client requests throughout the RFP process, including plan changes, budget revisions, distribution asks, marketplace and industry information, specifications, and timeline development
  • Utilize internal resources and tools to add relevant data to presentations and proposals
  • Become a Super User of the Order Management System, including feature testing, bug fixes, and critical-update testing
  • Develop a deep understanding of the NYT Product Catalogue
  • Carry at least two stretch projects, such as subject matter expert work, taskforce participation, mentoring, training-material development, Media Mint support, or other management-assigned projects
  • Mentor 1-2 Sales Planners and support their training and development
  • Help assign and assess Sales Planner work, deadlines, quality, and performance
  • Train Sales Planners in OMS/Workflow, NYT Product Knowledge, and T&Cs
  • Foster trusted relationships with Sales leaders through reliability, product and strategic expertise, and open communication
  • Lead onboarding of new Sales Planners
  • Assist in larger team discussions and support the entire portfolio
  • Manage interdepartmental workflow according to process and schedule
  • Manage ad hoc projects shaping the future of the Advertising business and positioning NYT as a thought leader
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the advertising landscape, including Viewability, Terms & Conditions, Reporting, Brand Safety, and Data Privacy
  • Provide coverage and resourcing assistance when other pod team members are out of office or have limited bandwidth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2-5 years of related experience in Digital advertising (Audio experience an added bonus)
  • Digital Planning experience is a prerequisite
  • BS/BA degree
  • Attention to detail and organized
  • Working knowledge of online proposal systems such as Lineup/Adpoint, DSM, Fat Tail, Operative is desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google office applications, and sales and data management tools such as Sales Force are desirable
