About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage insurance claims for clients at both individual and portfolio levels
  • Serve as a claims expert, trainer, and mentor
  • Establish claims protocols and policy enhancements with insurance company partners and clients
  • Schedule and conduct claim reviews, ensuring proper claims handling, reserve standards, and settlement protocols
  • Act as a claims advocate and liaison to help clients mitigate claims costs
  • Review individual claims and maintain current reserves and records according to industry best practices
  • Contribute to business development and renewal opportunities by attending client meetings
  • Explain the firm's approach to claims mitigation and resolution
  • Monitor industry trends, claims outcomes, legal developments, and regulatory changes
  • Provide summaries of claims reviews and related activities to Advisors, the Director of Risk Mitigation, colleagues, and clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years experience with claims and client/customer facing support role in the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge and/or expertise with commercial claims, including workers compensation, property & casualty, management liability, professional liability and/or other specialty claims
  • Ability to motivate and influence colleagues and clients
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships across business segments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present solutions, value propositions and risk mitigation strategies
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in claims management
  • Ability to read and interpret coverage and reservation of rights letters, profit and loss statements, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Experience with policy coverage review and dispute resolution
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least one certification expected, such as AIC, CPCU, ARM, CIC, AINS, WCCP, CLRI, CRM, or PRM
  • Knowledge and understanding of Spanish is a plus
