About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and manage AML compliance projects and technology initiatives for Financial Crimes Risk Management
  • Develop project plans and define milestones, deliverables, dependencies, assumptions, and risks
  • Draft business requirements, functional specifications, procedural documents, memos, test scripts, release checklists, UAT logs, and runbooks
  • Review information technology functional specifications and execute user acceptance testing scripts
  • Assist with Actimize Suspicious Activity Monitoring tuning, including rule coverage mapping, rule logic review, threshold tuning, testing, and work paper documentation
  • Apply AML risk methodologies, coverage analysis, and transaction monitoring red flags to recommend system and process enhancements
  • Provide AML compliance support to operating teams
  • Manage Quickbase to track issues, enhancements, and systems requests, and assist with prioritization
  • Assist with vendor discussions, proofs of concept, and feasibility studies
  • Present analysis and findings to executives, senior management, auditors, and examiners
  • Maintain documentation supporting AML and sanctions analytics, audits, and examinations
  • Develop cross-department relationships with operations, advisory, business, technology, projects, and investigations teams
  • Produce tuning, testing, and model validation work papers
  • Query and interpret Actimize alerts and make tuning decisions improving surveillance, investigations, and KYC processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of business analyst experience in financial services
  • Minimum of 1 year of project management experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of BSA, AML, OFAC, and compliance experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience testing and validating BSA, AML, and OFAC models preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience tuning and optimizing BSA and AML monitoring and detection systems preferred
  • Experience defining key risk metrics, dashboards, and analytics preferred
  • Experience updating AML monitoring coverage assessments and mapping typologies to the Actimize SAM rule set preferred
  • Experience identifying trends and analyzing automated monitoring methods preferred
  • Working knowledge of BSA, OFAC, the USA PATRIOT Act, and related regulations, directives, and guidance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with coding, SQL, scripts, and deployment cycles
  • Ability to identify and assess potential concerns and risks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, resolve issues, work independently, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multitasking environment
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word, and Outlook
  • Successful completion of background screening, including credit, criminal, education, employment, OFAC, and social media history
