About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive new partner acquisition across fintechs, marketplaces, and enterprise brands pursuing embedded finance strategies
- Build and manage a high-value pipeline through outbound prospecting, industry networks, and strategic partnerships
- Identify and prioritize opportunities aligned with the bank’s growth strategy
- Lead complex, multi-threaded enterprise sales cycles involving founders, C-suite executives, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Progress deals from initial engagement through contract execution while addressing blockers
- Structure and negotiate commercial partnerships, including program design, pricing, revenue share models, and contractual terms
- Translate client use cases into scalable sponsor bank program designs, including card issuing, deposits, and payments
- Ensure deals align with regulatory requirements and the bank’s risk appetite
- Coordinate compliance, risk, legal, finance, and product teams as the primary deal quarterback
- Drive internal alignment, efficient processes, program design, and launch readiness
- Advise clients on regulatory frameworks, program governance, and go-to-market strategy
- Represent the bank through events, partnerships, and industry engagement
- Build long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Maintain pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting
- Provide visibility into deal progression, risks, and revenue expectations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of enterprise sales or business development experience in fintech, banking, payments, or BaaS
- Proven track record of hunting, developing, and closing complex, high-value deals; multi-million dollar partnerships preferred
- Direct experience with sponsor bank models, embedded finance, or program management ecosystems
- Strong understanding of KYC, AML, consumer compliance, and third-party risk requirements
- Ability to navigate and influence multiple stakeholders across client organizations and internal teams
- Exceptional negotiation, deal structuring, and commercial acumen
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and resilience in long, complex sales cycles
- Executive presence engaging founders, C-suite leaders, and senior decision-makers
- Strong fluency in API-driven financial infrastructure
- Successful completion of background screening including credit, criminal, education, employment, OFAC, and social media background history
