About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Empower children and youth with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders
- Engage families to prevent out-of-home placement and reduce significant risks
- Provide services in clients’ homes with a small caseload
- Screen clients for appropriate level of care, substance toxicity, intoxication, withdrawal, dangerousness, and coexisting behavioral health problems
- Identify trauma, adversity, toxic stress, presenting problems, functioning, and family interaction styles
- Determine immediate and future risk of child abuse or neglect
- Adapt evidence-based inter-professional services to consumers’ and families’ needs
- Develop collaborative relationships with service providers
- Develop training plans and facilitate coaching
- Contribute to treatment teams, committees, group supervision, and working groups
- Use trauma-informed interventions to engage clients
- Educate clients, families, and providers about conditions, prevention, treatments, illness, whole-health self-management, peer support, and recovery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in social work, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Active Ohio LSW, LPC, or MFT license
- Previous work experience as a Social Worker, Counselor, Therapist, or Clinician preferred
- Active Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
- Satisfactory pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to work with children and youth experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders
- Ability to adapt services to language, cultural norms, and individual preferences
