About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set and maintain the vision for infrastructure and DevOps across platform engineering
Create standard patterns for cloud accounts, environments, setup, and tools
Ensure solutions follow company architecture and security rules and are easy for teams to use
Identify problems best solved at the platform level
Lead the AWS migration, including account rules, lift-and-shift, and modernization of migrated workloads
Inventory on-premises and existing cloud workloads to determine migration strategy
Bring AWS accounts into standard platform patterns
Enforce account standards for tagging, access, guardrails, access controls, and cost management
Partner with the Cloud Center of Excellence, AWS account teams, and finance/FinOps partners on migration credit and incentive programs
Track and share progress, risks, and dependencies across applications and accounts
Partner with Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering to align infrastructure, DevOps, reliability, and resiliency practices
Align roadmaps for migration, tools, and standards
Manage the DevOps and Infrastructure team, including setting priorities and coaching team members
Review designs and guide infrastructure and DevOps decisions
Solve complex cross-team infrastructure and cloud problems
Partner with senior engineering, architecture, and security leaders
Make decisions independently within company guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of related experience
Experience designing and leading cloud infrastructure, especially on AWS
Experience leading cloud migrations, including lift-and-shift and modernization
Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
Understanding of cloud account governance, including tagging, access controls, guardrails, and cost management
Familiarity with platform engineering and site reliability practices
Experience managing, coaching, and guiding a technical team
Ability to influence senior leaders through expertise, teamwork, and credibility
Ability to work with finance partners on cloud costs and incentive programs
Strong skills in tracking and reporting progress, risks, and dependencies
Clear written and verbal communication skills
