About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Middle/Back Office functions for asset class and portfolio areas
  • Perform trade settlements, cash and position reconciliations, wire processing, data management, asset valuations, and reporting
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of CIM’s operational functions, investment infrastructure, data flows, processes, business needs, and practices
  • Work with IT, Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and Treasury to identify and resolve issues
  • Implement operational process efficiencies and controls
  • Support business initiatives, process developments, improvements, and CIM Operations projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners and service providers
  • Report to the Investment Operations Director and support the broader Investment Operations team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in financial discipline
  • Early-career professional with exposure to investment-related activities; internship experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of investment management and interest in investment operations
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Detail oriented, organized, intellectually curious, and a proactive problem solver
  • Must comply with CII’s personal trading requirements and restrictions as an Access Person
  • If working from home, cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
