About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and lead an enterprise-wide strategic intelligence capability for the healthcare ecosystem
Identify and interpret competitive, customer, provider, payer, PBM, specialty, technology, regulatory, and adjacent-market dynamics
Develop forward-looking perspectives on healthcare markets, business models, value pools, opportunities, risks, and competitive advantages
Serve as the primary source of external insight for leadership
Build and maintain external relationships across healthcare, technology, venture capital, innovation, academia, provider organizations, and adjacent industries
Design and build a modern intelligence ecosystem powered by advanced analytics, data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies
Integrate internal and external data sources for signal detection, trend identification, predictive analysis, and strategic decision support
Establish tools, operating models, and governance to improve intelligence quality, accessibility, speed, and adoption
Advise the Executive Leadership Team and Board on strategic implications and actionable recommendations
Inform enterprise strategy, long-range planning, growth priorities, innovation decisions, partnerships, and capital allocation
Deliver scenario analyses, strategic foresight, and forward-looking assessments
Identify emerging growth opportunities, unmet customer needs, new business models, and adjacent-market opportunities
Connect intelligence to decisions, investments, innovation, product strategy, and business execution
Build an enterprise learning model that captures signals, synthesizes implications, and accelerates organizational learning
Partner with Strategy, Innovation, Ventures, Product, Technology, and business leadership teams to drive action
Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, applied learning, and external awareness
Act as an external ambassador and connector for the enterprise

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree required
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, competitive intelligence, market intelligence, business transformation, corporate development, innovation, consulting, venture investing, or related fields
Deep understanding of healthcare ecosystem dynamics, including payer, provider, pharmacy, specialty, technology, regulatory, and adjacent market trends
Demonstrated experience translating market, customer, competitive, technology, and industry insights into enterprise strategy and business action
Proven success influencing executive-level strategic decisions, long-range planning, investment priorities, and growth initiatives
Experience leveraging advanced analytics, data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies for strategic insight generation and decision support
Strong strategic foresight capabilities, including scenario planning, trend analysis, and evaluation of future market and business model evolution
Experience building and scaling enterprise capabilities, operating models, and cross-functional partnerships in highly matrixed organizations
Exceptional analytical, synthesis, storytelling, and executive communication skills
Ability to translate complexity into clear business implications and actionable recommendations
Ability to influence across all organizational levels without direct authority and drive alignment around strategic priorities
Track record of identifying, evaluating, and advancing new growth opportunities, partnerships, investments, or business models
MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Experience within healthcare, healthcare technology, digital health, life sciences, consulting, venture capital, private equity, innovation, or adjacent industries preferred
Experience building or leading modern intelligence, insights, analytics, strategic planning, or foresight functions preferred
Understanding of AI-enabled intelligence platforms, data ecosystems, and emerging technologies preferred
Experience engaging with startup ecosystems, venture communities, academic institutions, innovation hubs, industry associations, or strategic partner networks preferred
Established external network of healthcare, technology, innovation, investment, or ecosystem leaders preferred
Experience advising executive leadership teams and Boards preferred
Demonstrated ability to connect disparate market signals and emerging developments into actionable strategic insights preferred
Reliable cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload when working from home
