About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with clients to understand learning needs and translate organisational needs into meaningful learning experiences
  • Contribute to learning design and proposals, including programme journeys, learning objectives, activities and approaches
  • Design and curate distinctive, purposeful learning experiences
  • Source and work with contributors, briefing them and drawing out their contributions
  • Contribute to client pitches and explain the organisation’s experiential learning approach
  • Facilitate Common Purpose programmes in person and online
  • Create conditions for experiential learning by building trust, encouraging participation and balancing safety, challenge and curiosity
  • Bring learning to life through questioning, discussion, activities, reflection and interaction with expert contributors
  • Read and respond to the room by adapting activities, pace, questions and approach
  • Prepare, review and improve delivery through facilitation plans, materials, team briefings, debriefs and knowledge sharing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong facilitation experience – ideally five years or more of facilitating groups, learning experiences or programmes
  • Understanding of experiential learning and pedagogy
  • Learning design capability
  • Learning consultancy skills
  • Client confidence, including presenting ideas and contributing to pitches
  • Energy, curiosity and external orientation
  • Strong interpersonal and group skills
  • Confidence with challenge and complexity
  • Adaptability and judgement
  • Reflective approach to own practice
  • Excellent written English, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence facilitating both in person and online
  • Ability to work independently while contributing actively to a collaborative team
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, multiple programmes and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and globally, including occasional early mornings, evenings and short periods away from home
  • Confidence and proficiency using Microsoft Office, Zoom and other digital collaboration tools
  • Commitment to Common Purpose’s independent and non-aligned approach to programme experiences
  • Ability to demonstrate facilitation experience through programmes, feedback, testimonials, recordings, qualifications or other evidence
