About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research organizations, communities, leaders and individuals who can bring relevant and diverse perspectives, experiences and opportunities to programmes
  • Proactively approach and secure contributors and partners
  • Identify and secure organizational visits, place-based experiences and community engagement opportunities
  • Brief and support contributors to create meaningful learning experiences
  • Convene and engage groups of young people and students in inclusive environments
  • Develop the skills and confidence to independently facilitate programme elements in person and online
  • Work with youth organizations, universities and partners to recruit young people and students
  • Build and develop a network of youth and education partners
  • Collaborate with programme and partnership colleagues on programme delivery
  • Contribute insights from participants, partners, contributors and external networks to programme development
  • Represent Common Purpose and build trusted relationships with young people, clients, contributors and partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong outreach and engagement experience, including proactively identifying and engaging people or organizations and securing participation, involvement or support
  • Ability to make compelling approaches and persuade different audiences to get involved
  • Persistence and follow-through toward outreach or recruitment goals
  • Experience engaging young people or students from different backgrounds, experiences and levels of confidence
  • Experience convening, engaging or working with groups and creating participatory environments
  • Confidence engaging people at all levels, from young people and community organizations to university colleagues, employers and senior leaders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, exercise judgement and use initiative
  • Organization and adaptability when managing multiple prospects, relationships and priorities
  • Excellent written English, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing actively to a collaborative team
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the UK, including outside normal working hours when necessary
  • Commitment to Common Purpose’s independent and non-aligned approach
  • Ability to demonstrate facilitation experience through relevant examples or other evidence of practice
