About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist mortgage officers with due diligence support for origination, closing, and conversion of multifamily loans
- Ensure loan documents are accurate and delivered to Portfolio Services in a timely manner
- Order, review, and track credit, appraisal, engineering, and environmental reports
- Process invoices for payment and prepare environmental report memos
- Prepare closing packages for construction, permanent, Freddie Mac, and SONYMA loans
- Review construction contracts, insurance binders, loan applications, borrower and development-team references, and credit checks
- Prepare term sheets and commitment letters with mortgage officers
- Oversee document scanning into Navigator
- Perform market research
- Maintain and update loan pipeline status
- Coordinate closing packages, checklists, conditions, conference calls, and closing dates with borrowers, attorneys, coordinators, mortgage officers, and Portfolio Services
- Maintain contact lists and coordinate events, conferences, sponsorships, and event-ticket purchases
- Act as Office Manager by ordering supplies, processing invoices and expense reports, scheduling travel and staff meetings, and performing administrative duties
- Maintain office administrative and project files
- Keep office attendance records and report monthly to CPC Central Office
- Prepare monthly Mortgage Officer American Express expense reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree with 3+ years of experience in multifamily loan processing and documentation preferred; candidates with 1+ years of strong mortgage or loan processing experience will also be considered
- Understanding of multifamily loan processing and documentation
- Comprehension of the elements of a mortgage offering and the steps necessary to successfully close a deal
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical ability in loan processing, documentation, due diligence, and closing/conversion readiness
- Strong communication skills for internal and external parties
- Customer service skills for borrowers, internal partners, and stakeholders
- Ability to work in a team, including listening, negotiating, and leadership skills
- Project and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Initiative and ability to act as a self-starter
