About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist officers with due diligence support for the origination, closing, and conversion of multifamily loans
- Ensure necessary loan documents are accurate and delivered to Portfolio Services in a timely manner
- Order, review, and track credit, appraisal, engineering, and environmental reports
- Process invoices for payment and prepare environmental report memos
- Review construction contracts, insurance binders, and other closing/conversion materials
- Review loan applications and complete due diligence on borrowers and development teams, including reference and credit checks
- Prepare term sheets and commitment letters with mortgage officers after loan approval
- Review SONYMA commitments for pension fund permanent loans
- Prepare construction, permanent, Freddie Mac, and SONYMA loan packages for Portfolio Services
- Oversee document scanning to Navigator
- Perform market research for individual projects
- Maintain and frequently update loan pipeline status
- Coordinate with closings coordinators, borrowers, borrower teams, mortgage officers, and Portfolio Services to complete closing packages
- Provide closing checklists and track received items until files are complete
- Participate in closing calls and schedule closing dates
- Maintain contact lists and coordinate events, conferences, sponsorships, and ticket purchases with External Affairs and mortgage officers
- Act as Office Manager for the Central Region/Syracuse field office, including supplies, invoices, expense reports, travel, meetings, and administrative duties
- Maintain office administrative and project files
- Keep office attendance records and report monthly to CPC Central Office
- Prepare monthly Mortgage Officer American Express expense reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree with 1-2+ years of experience in loan processing and documentation preferred
- Understanding of multifamily loan processing and documentation a strong plus
- Comprehension of the elements of a mortgage offering, and a clear understanding of the steps necessary to successfully close a deal
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical ability applied to loan processing, documentation, due diligence, and closing/conversion readiness
- Superior communication skills to communicate clearly with internal and external parties
- Excellent customer service for borrowers, internal partners, and other stakeholders
- Ability to successfully work with others as a team, including listening, negotiating and leadership skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities across loan packages, third party reports, pipeline status, and office administration
- Initiative and ability to act as a self-starter
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
