About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and structure capital to promote CPC growth and community impact
  • Work with the Head of Capital Strategies, Finance team, and other leaders on CPC’s capitalization structure
  • Provide guidance and expertise to executive management, subsidiaries, the Capital Allocation Committee, and the Board of Directors
  • Ensure low-cost, efficient, flexible capital aligned with business goals
  • Manage balance sheet, liquidity, capital, credit ratings, debt terms, financial covenants, and accretive new capital
  • Build capital channels involving GSE loans, construction/permanent loans, project debt, corporate debt, capital recycling, and interest-rate hedging
  • Incorporate market information into financial models to inform product pricing and structuring
  • Lead capital markets transactions, bank facilities, and programmatic partnerships
  • Support asset dispositions, refinancings, capital allocation, revenue generation, and business growth
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, finance, technology/investment, and business leaders to structure compliant products
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative due diligence on prospective opportunities
  • Analyze strategic alternatives including acquisitions, partnerships, and potential investments
  • Build and maintain networks of investors, bankers, lawyers, rating analysts, and other market participants
  • Assist with investor relations materials, activities, and events
  • Assist in overseeing the rates desk and interest-rate reporting
  • Support and help supervise the loan participations desk
  • Cultivate and mentor junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Real Estate or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in capital markets, commercial banking, structured finance, real estate finance, corporate finance, or related fields
  • Direct experience in the multifamily affordable housing sector strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of corporate structures, debt and equity financing mechanisms and real estate strategy
  • Demonstrated experience in capital markets and/or commercial banking within the multifamily affordable housing sector
  • Advanced analytical skills with financial modeling experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects with varied workstreams
  • Strategic thinker and proficient in decision-making
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to foster a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • A patient and disciplined contributor who seeks and accepts a high degree of personal responsibility
