About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and sustain high-quality, community-based relationships through close management of 4–5 assigned program sites
- Build relationships with every volunteer mentor, youth, and caregiver
- Support overall management and functioning of assigned sites
- Attend to youth, families, and partners’ needs related to DREAM
- Ensure every volunteer mentor and AmeriCorps member is prepared, trained, and intentionally supported
- Establish and support year-round programs at program sites
- Operate programs and activities in fidelity to DREAM’s models while striving for excellence and expanding offerings
- Support seasonal transitions between school-year and summer programming
- Create and deliver daily summer activities that combat summer learning loss and engage youth
- Lead school-year out-of-school-time activities and mentoring relationships
- Collaborate closely with regional managers and directors in person and virtually
- Communicate regularly and professionally with mentors, parents, and community partners
- Report to DREAM’s Board of Directors, build community partnerships, and connect youth and families with local resources
- Participate in the Employee & Member Support team and help drive strategy and execution of initiatives
- Attend and lead regular multi-day retreats
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of experience managing a group of employees, service members and/or volunteers
- Demonstrated practice or education serving and supervising individuals with a variety of lived experiences respectfully and with awareness of how those experiences impact individuals and communities
- 2+ years of experience in organizations focused on youth development
- Demonstrated skills in positive team communication
- Experience maintaining an organizational property, office, and/or program space
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office apps, Google's GSuite, and email communication
- Database experience
- Accounting software experience
- Familiarity with AmeriCorps grant requirements and mentoring program requirements expressed by CNCS and state and local regulations
- Ability to manage time and set priorities while considering staff, the organization, and self
- Creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Contagious energy for DREAM’s work
- Comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all seasons
- Full-time salaried, overtime-exempt commitment averaging 35–45 hours per week
- Regular evening and occasional weekend availability
- Required participation and leadership at regular multi-day retreats, typically one each quarter
- Ability to travel locally during work hours, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, communicate, hear, use vision abilities, and occasionally lift or move items over 50 pounds
