About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engage directly in industrial/manufacturing environments to gather field data and conduct field investigations
  • Provide technical engineering design support for industrial electrical systems, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution
  • Complete power systems analyses, including short circuit, load flow, overcurrent coordination, arc flash, power factor, grounding systems, harmonics and panel SCCR
  • Design machine and process power distribution systems, facility electrical and grounding systems, and oversee installation
  • Lead development of project documentation, schedules and cost estimates
  • Perform QA/QC of design packages and stamp them
  • Lead design work, delegate efforts and hold team members accountable
  • Collaborate with partner contractors, clients and project teams
  • Lead design reviews with clients and internal teams
  • Develop and write proposals covering concepts, scope, deliverables, effort hours and estimated cost

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering – Power System option or equivalent technical experience
  • 10+ years of industrial electrical systems engineering design & analysis experience
  • 5+ years of experience with medium voltage (up to 15 kV) and low voltage (up to 600 VAC) power distribution systems
  • Professional Engineer license
  • Experience with electrical power analysis using SKM power tools for Windows, Easypower, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related codes and standards, including NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, 79 and IEEE color books
  • Preferred: 15+ years of industry-relevant experience
  • Preferred: Hazardous area classification and power implications
  • Ability to travel for work up to 25% annually
  • Must complete required drug testing within two business days of offer acceptance, subject to applicable state law
