Adjunct Instructor, Dental Hygiene

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Instruct college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques
- Develop discipline-related curricula
- Assess student learning
- Participate in program evaluation and college activities
- Maintain college and department standards in support of the College's mission and strategic plan
- Develop, maintain, interpret, and execute administrative procedures and practices
- Develop and maintain manuals regarding College policies, procedures, rules, and standards
- Analyze class and program needs and recommend course retention or deletion
- Develop and coordinate program and course schedules, faculty assignments, and test dates
- Maintain and adjust calendars tracking schedules
- Assist students with program curriculum, program and course reviews, and articulation activities
- Work schedule varies according to teaching assignment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified faculty by dental education according to the ADA Accreditation Standards: training, certification or license related to scope of practice and in accordance with the Florida Division of Medical Quality Assurance: Florida Board of Dentistry
- Current Florida Dental Hygiene License
- Minimum two years' experience working as a Dental Hygienist
- Associate degree or higher
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
- Ability to utilize Canvas Learning Management System and other instructional technologies
- Ability to interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Ability to work a fluctuating schedule including evenings and weekends
- Official transcripts, college-stamped student copies, or non-web-based unofficial transcripts must be attached to the application
- Degrees earned in the United States must be conferred by an accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation
- Degrees earned outside the United States must be validated by an organization belonging to NACES, with an evaluation report attached before the application closing date
- Physical ability to reach and grasp objects; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use a video display terminal; use manual dexterity and fine motor skills; communicate orally and in writing; receive and understand oral and written information; proofread and check documents for accuracy
