About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Fully implements the research study under the direction of the Principal Investigator
  • Recruits research participants
  • Conducts the research protocol
  • Manages data collection and analysis
  • Oversees the grant budget
  • Prepares interim and final progress reports
  • Monitors staffing, hiring, salary negotiations, and performance review processes
  • Conducts counseling and corrective action, including termination, with Human Resources and the Director
  • Directs multiple programmatic/study-related activities and ensures staff perform tasks within project scope
  • Plans and facilitates individual and team meetings
  • Ensures compliance with Foundation and site policies, procedures, and SOPs
  • Develops, manages, and mentors staff through training, guidance, feedback, reviews, and meetings
  • Supports development and documentation of policies, best-practice guidelines, and internal controls
  • Provides technical direction, supervision, and guidance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and governing regulations/laws
  • Provides day-to-day leadership enabling program success
  • Determines the research study project schedule
  • Supports allocation of appropriate resources
  • Oversees award administration and deliverables
  • Designs and implements research-study processes
  • Promotes research-participant safety and confidentiality
  • Adheres to OSHA, GLP, GCP, and infection-control procedures
  • Performs basic study-related procedures as required
  • Maintains a collaborative research environment among the Principal Investigator, site personnel, research participants, The Geneva Foundation, and the funding organization
  • Participates in data analysis and manuscript preparation, as applicable
  • Maintains an updated literature library related to the research topic
  • Maintains security and confidentiality of research records
  • Maintains and updates IACUC or IRB regulatory documentation and communications with sponsors and regulatory offices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in research management preferred
  • 4-6 years of non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
  • 3-5 years of experience in planning, organizational, communications, and management skills
  • US Citizenship
  • Competence in oral and written communication
  • Organized, attentive to detail, and positive, friendly, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to execute the organization's vision in response to changing conditions
  • Strong leadership, innovative thinking, creative planning, and effective motivation skills
  • Flexibility with changing priorities and availability to interact with employees, clients, and sponsors of all levels
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment with strict deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships
  • Intermediate-level computer skills, including Excel and other Microsoft Office software
  • Background check required
