About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to planning and execution of projects and program operations
- Support project planning, tracking, reporting, documentation, and coordination across teams and service areas
- Collaborate with management and colleagues to define objectives, develop plans, and implement procedures
- Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and contribute to written project materials
- Track milestones, coordinate resources, meetings, and action items, and support onboarding
- Understand scientific aims of sponsors and collaborators and keep projects moving forward by identifying blockers, unclear priorities, and resource gaps
- Document project objectives, milestones, team roles, commitments, tasks, and timelines
- Establish and coordinate project communications, team meetings, breakout meetings, subteam meetings, and daily standups; maintain meeting minutes
- Maintain and distribute project status updates to collaborators, sponsors, and stakeholders
- Monitor and document research objectives, task priorities, statuses, resources, decision points, and sponsor satisfaction
- Perform project accounting activities, including monthly grant accounting and services billing reporting
- Facilitate daily meetings, track daily tasks, coordinate routine communications, and maintain operational follow-through
- Assist in developing communication plans and maintaining dashboards, reports, and project reporting materials
- Support department-wide administrative and operational activities, including financial and service billing reporting, intake and service request processes, and project, vendor, and program records
- Coordinate team members associated with assigned projects and operational workflows
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Area of Specialization: Life Sciences
- Project management certification preferred
- Understanding of and experience in project management, particularly agile/iterative project management methods
- Understanding of and experience in biological science, particularly genetics, genomics, and the scientific method, is preferred
- Understanding of and experience in computer science, particularly software development/engineering, is preferred
- Excellent oral, digital, written and listening communication skills
- Ability to manage timelines through analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Ability to organize, manage and monitor multiple projects to successful completion, adapting to shifting priorities in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams and support the coordination and tracking of software development activities and related project tasks is preferred
- Ability to track commitments, follow up on outstanding activities, and escalate delays or issues
- Ability to identify schedule conflicts, dependencies, missing information, and other issues affecting planned activities
- Ability to maintain visibility of assigned activities, priorities, and deadlines and adjust coordination activities
- Interpersonal relationship skills sufficient to lead others, develop consensus, and work effectively with diverse individuals and groups
- Ability to manage expectations of collaborators and managers and motivate team members to execute and deliver
