About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure coverage whenever residents require approved off-site or virtual accompaniment
- Accompany and supervise residents during approved off-site activities, including court appearances, medical appointments, and emergency room visits
- Supervise residents during approved virtual sessions such as telehealth appointments and virtual court hearings
- Ensure residents’ safety, accountability, and compliance during transportation or virtual participation
- Document and report transports, visits, incidents, and violations according to program requirements
- Provide backup Operations Monitor coverage when not on a scheduled trip
- Search property brought into the facility by residents and visitors for contraband
- Conduct random or scheduled pat searches, breathalyzer alcohol tests, and urine specimen collection
- Communicate professionally with staff and residents
- Patrol the facility and monitor residents and facility conditions
- Conduct facility counts and verify accurate logbooks
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Perform other duties assigned by the Operations Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- One year of experience in a security/customer service responsibility position, preferably in a correctional organization
- Demonstrated effectiveness in written and oral communication
- First Aid and CPR Certifications (will train for certification)
- Valid driving license and a clean driving record
- Basic understanding of security procedures and safety protocols, or willingness to learn
- Exposure to emergency response practices or ability to be trained in emergency procedures
- Familiarity with community supervision, transportation, or correctional environments is a plus
- Ability to learn and implement contract requirements regarding community corrections and accountability
- Ability to establish authority and communicate for understanding
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and co-workers
- Ability to identify and report problems timely and accurately
- Ability to administer First Aid and CPR
- Ability to drive a company vehicle when required
- Ability to follow company and contracting agency policies and procedures
- Ability to meet contracting agency clearance requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
