About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide end-to-end employee relations legal support
  • Advise on employment contracts, procedures, policies, industrial instruments, wage compliance, performance management, conduct issues, investigations, disciplinary action, disputes, strategic projects and other matters
  • Partner with the People & Culture team to manage risks and compliance
  • Engage across the whole organisation and influence key internal stakeholders
  • Manage the employee relations and industrial relations legal portfolio

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree qualified in law
  • Admitted as a solicitor in QLD or relevant state or territory
  • 3 to 5 years of proven legal experience in-house or in private practice
  • Experience in employee relations and industrial relations law is essential
  • Core legal training undertaken in a law firm environment is highly regarded
  • Understanding of recent and emerging legislative change in the employee and industrial relations environment and relevant case law
  • Experience proactively partnering with People & Culture teams to support management of employee-related issues, risks and disputes, including litigation
