About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build modern data pipelines and transformations on GCP
- Develop scalable data models using BigQuery and dbt
- Modernise legacy workloads for the cloud environment
- Build and orchestrate pipelines through Cloud Composer
- Develop batch, streaming and event-driven data solutions
- Optimise data solutions for performance and cost
- Build reusable components for AI and agentic solutions
- Embed CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Troubleshoot complex data and pipeline issues
- Partner with the business to understand data requirements
- Mentor engineers and uplift modern engineering practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience across data, analytics or AI engineering
- Strong SQL, Python and data modelling capability
- Experience building production data solutions in cloud environments
- GCP experience, or strong transferable cloud data platform experience
- Enterprise-scale data warehousing, ETL and migration experience
- Experience with modern transformation and orchestration tooling
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and modern engineering experience
- Confidence partnering with technical and business stakeholders
- Curiosity and an AI-first mindset towards building and problem-solving
