About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the go-to expert on the resource library
- Guide staff and contributors who develop or adapt resources
- Evaluate offerings for relevance, engagement and innovation
- Identify gaps and design additional resources using educator feedback
- Coordinate cross-team resource efforts, including marketing campaigns and technology initiatives
- Maintain a multiyear resource development roadmap
- Monitor resource inventories and identify and update outdated materials
- Drive project management and resource development efforts across teams
- Lead development of lessons, instructional videos, online interactives, quizzes, infographics and other resources
- Collaborate with educator support staff to align priorities with teacher feedback and strategic needs
- Align resources to educational standards
- Partner with the Senior Director of Education Design and Senior Vice President of Research and Design
- Develop innovative news literacy resources for educators and students
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in K-12 education
- Background in journalism, news literacy or a similar field, such as information literacy
- Substantial instructional design experience
- Project management experience, formal or informal
- Experience coordinating with marketing, technology or other cross-functional partners
- Familiarity with major e-learning authoring tools and platforms
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and protocols, specifically WCAG
- At least basic proficiency in graphic design, including working with image files
- Basic video editing skills
- Skilled in Notion, Slack, Canva and Microsoft Office, including SharePoint
- High-level understanding of learning standards, approaches and frameworks
- Strong understanding of journalism, social media and student information habits
- Ability to integrate educational research and theory into practice
- Experience producing high-quality written work on tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
- Experience working in a virtual work environment
- Candidates must live in and be authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a background check and professional reference check
