About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide operational leadership and oversight of complex and sensitive fitness to practise cases
  • Lead the operational management of complex and sensitive fitness to practise cases
  • Manage team workflow and ensure cases progress proactively and effectively
  • Act as an escalation point for complex issues and complaints
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders with differing interests
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and support case-specific communication plans
  • Work closely with media colleagues on cases attracting public, media or political interest
  • Drive continuous improvement through quality assurance, stakeholder feedback and service development initiatives
  • Provide leadership, coaching and performance management to team members
  • Support the dedicated maternity workstream and contribute to public protection and professional regulation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experienced operational leader
  • Excellent communication skills, including conveying complex or sensitive information clearly, confidently and empathetically
  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience prioritising competing demands and working to strict deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of data protection, information governance and confidentiality requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to review and work with sensitive and distressing material relating to fitness to practise cases
  • Ability to attend one of the organisation’s offices twice per week
