About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to a Senior Screening Manager
- Directly line-manage Triage Officers and one Senior Triage Officer
- Oversee all enquiries managed under the Triage process alongside the fellow Triage Manager
- Provide leadership and support to the Triage team and wider Triage function
- Enable excellent customer service and achievement against key performance indicators
- Make and facilitate Triage decisions
- Drive and implement process improvements and maximise efficiencies
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Foster an inclusive environment supporting team success, skills development and career progression
- Work within the NMC’s fitness to practise Screening department, assessing enquiries and determining next steps
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience successfully leading a team to produce high-quality work at pace
- Staff management and motivating others to achieve shared goals and objectives
- Experience supporting staff through process change and/or new ways of working
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience making casework decisions, preferably in a regulatory setting
- Experience developing staff and managing team and individual performance
- Experience collating management information and reporting to senior staff
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
- Ability to prioritise tasks and respond flexibly to changing demands
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service and enhancing stakeholder experience
- Ability to review and work with sensitive and distressing fitness to practise material
- Ability to attend one of the NMC offices twice per week
