About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and prepare fitness to practise cases
- Conduct advocacy before the NMC’s practice committees
- Handle High Court interim order extension applications across UK jurisdictions
- Work on PSA and registrant appeals
- Advise on and manage High Court interim order applications and appeals
- Prepare and present cases to the NMC’s Fitness to Practise Committee
- Help ensure fair and timely outcomes
- Contribute to protecting the public and maintaining confidence in regulated professions
- Collaborate with lawyers and paralegals
- Guide, support and develop colleagues
- Move between teams as the flow of work dictates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experienced UK-qualified Solicitor or Barrister
- Substantial experience in professional regulation
- Strong advocacy skills
- Track record managing complex, high-profile cases
- Leadership experience
- Ability to guide, support and develop colleagues
- Excellent organisation
- Person-centred approach
- High professional standards, integrity and sound judgement
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
- Must be able to attend one of the organisation’s offices two days per week
- Subject to pre-employment checks; DBS and further vetting checks may be introduced
