About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic vision, governance, and maturation of the medical center's defensive security capabilities
  • Govern the partner-led Managed Security Operations Center (mSOC)
  • Direct the enterprise Vulnerability Management program across IT, IoT, and medical IoT/mIoT devices
  • Architect a Threat Intelligence capability
  • Scale the Incident Response (IR) function
  • Establish strategic alignment and collaboration between OSUWMC departments, OSU OTDI, and external security vendors
  • Maintain runbooks and optimize vendor performance against SLAs
  • Lead measurable iterative controls validation of Information Security and Privacy Control Requirements (ISPCR)
  • Provide executive and operational oversight across cybersecurity defense functions
  • Lead, mentor, and grow technical cybersecurity teams
  • Drive staff engagement, technical growth, and a high-trust team culture
  • Steer third-party partners and cross-functional technical teams in a highly matrixed environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years of progressive leadership experience in cybersecurity operations or engineering
  • Personnel management or supervisory experience leading technical teams
  • Final candidates must successfully complete a background check
  • A drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process
