About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, test, train, maintain, and support clinical systems used in medication management and pharmacy automation
  • Lead complex, high-impact, cross-functional clinical application and pharmacy automation initiatives
  • Direct development, implementation, integration, optimization, maintenance, and support of clinical applications
  • Establish and promote technical, build, testing, validation, and documentation standards
  • Evaluate workflows and system performance
  • Identify risks, dependencies, technical debt, and improvement opportunities affecting medication safety, regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and organizational priorities
  • Coordinate technical work across supported domains and provide visibility into workload and project readiness
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer, mentor analysts, and support onboarding and cross-training
  • Prepare recommendations for Pharmacy Informatics leadership
  • Serve as liaison among Pharmacy Informatics, pharmacy operations, information technology teams, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Provide medication and related system expertise for complex enterprise-wide clinical system projects
  • Promote cooperation and collaboration to achieve Department of Pharmacy and OSUWMC enterprise goals
  • Develop and promote team standards and cultivate a positive team culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of relevant experience required
  • Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Final candidates must successfully complete a background check
  • A drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process
  • Knowledge of information systems terminology, information system processing, and desktop solutions
  • Expertise in pharmacy operations, clinical practice, systems integration, and automation
  • Knowledge of OSUWMC pharmacy operations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and support clinical application systems and medication-management automation
