About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engage in applied health services and population health research in a project-based, team setting
  • Perform technical tasks and, in some cases, contribute to project leadership and administration
  • Complete moderately complex work independently and assist with advanced-complexity tasks under appropriate oversight
  • Work on 2–4 projects at a time
  • Develop and provide technical assistance for coding quality measures
  • Review Electronic Health Record data from clinical sites participating in quality improvement collaboratives
  • Analyze data and develop quantitative reports and visualizations of aggregated quality or population health metrics
  • Compose technical reports, manuals, and presentation materials
  • Present results clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Review subcontractor work products
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews
  • Assist with institutional review board applications and other data governance requests
  • Design and execute linkage strategies for connecting administrative datasets
  • Work with data dashboards and address data quality issues on select projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 2 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a relevant field of study
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • May be required to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen
  • Demonstrated usage of R, SAS, or Stata for data analysis
  • Experience working on quality improvement initiatives or population health research, including developing clinical or population health quality measures is desired
  • Training in quality improvement science is desired
