About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and provide care to patients and their families
- Direct and supervise nursing care provided by other patient care team members
- Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care
- Serve as the primary responder to telephone calls from established James patients
- Complete initial call assessments and triage calls using established triage algorithms
- Document call assessments and management in the electronic medical record
- Follow up on and help resolve post-discharge or post-procedure calls requiring additional intervention
- Serve as a clinical resource for James scheduling staff regarding referral-based needs
- Provide remote telephone triage care for oncology patients
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Nursing from a CCNE- or ACEN-accredited nursing program required
- Current Ohio license or interim permit
- Maintains current Ohio RN license
- Meets mandatory educational and health requirements
- Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions
- 2 years of experience in a relevant care setting preferred
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred
- Experience in telephone assessment and management preferred
- Qualified candidates preferably have 5 or more years of oncology or triage experience
- Located within 1.5 hours of the facility
- Willingness/ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Final candidates subject to successful completion of a background check
- A drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process
