About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide counseling and administrative assistance in the Eligibility, Analysis and Operations area of Student Financial Aid for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students
- Counsel students, families, and other users regarding financial aid
- Verify aid eligibility and award or revise financial aid packages
- Process, approve, and deny appeals
- Authorize scholarships and monitor student accounts
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and university policies
- Evaluate, process, and/or certify consortium agreements, private loans, and university loans
- Provide information and administrative support to Student Financial Aid staff, colleges/departments, and regional campuses
- Serve as liaison for the university, external education communities, and the general public
- Conduct orientations and presentations and train campus partners
- Assist with policy and procedure development
- Maintain statistics, research and resolve problems, serve on committees, and perform assigned duties and projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required
- Two (2) years of relevant experience required
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple databases required for processing financial aid
- Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, and track financial data
- Current resume and cover letter required
- Successful completion of a background check required for final candidates
- Drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process
