About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide education and training to support workers in schools, kindergartens and children’s homes
  • Provide family-centred care using holistic, systematic assessment of children’s medical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs
  • Plan and implement nursing care for patients in Post-acute Care, Homecare, School Care and Family Healthcare Support programs
  • Facilitate training and assessment of support workers providing in-home care
  • Conduct comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments
  • Use assessment techniques to collect relevant and accurate data
  • Develop and maintain information supporting community care delivery
  • Provide clinical advice on non-urgent nursing or medical queries
  • Travel regionally across Victoria as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously as necessary
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in performing duties
  • Valid Victorian drivers licence
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing priorities and environment
  • Minimum of 3 years paediatric nursing experience
  • Current National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain one
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Compliance with RCH’s Staff Immunisation procedure
  • Annual influenza vaccination for Category A and B roles, unless medically exempt
  • Compliance with other vaccination or immunity directions, unless exempt
  • Successful completion of background and reference checks
