About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver holistic assessments, individualised care plans and best-practice, family-centred care
Provide culturally responsive health education, information and support to patients and families
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that strengthen nursing practice, safety and health outcomes
Support, mentor and guide junior staff and students
Partner with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams across surgical wards and departments
Work across Platypus Surgical Care, Cockatoo Surgical and Neuro Care, Koala Cardiac Surgery, Possum Surgical Short Stay, and Medical Imaging as aligned with experience and preferences

Requirements

What you’ll need

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Demonstrated dedication to continuous development, evidenced in an up-to-date CPD/PPP
Recent Paediatric Nursing or Surgical Nursing experience is highly regarded but not essential
Annual influenza vaccination required for Category A and B roles unless medically exempt
Compliance with other vaccination or immunity directions unless exempt
Successful completion of background checks, including reference checks
Australian Government Immunisation History Statement required
